It all began in the sea. You’re floating on your board off the coast of Nicaragua, the sun beating down on you and nothing seems to click. Each time you paddle out, arms burning from the effort, the wave you’ve been tracking seems to pass you by at the last moment. Seeing your frustration, Irmi, your guide smiles and says, “Relax, enjoy the wave”. At that moment you choose to let things flow, you embrace the struggle and catch your next wave.
Irmi’s words on that day are a reminder: enjoy life’s difficult moments. Because in life, as in surfing, full presence is needed.
A set of five 6” x 4” postcards that mix a touch of surrealism, with a bit of sentimentality and a lot of spirit.
Each card, inspired by a surf session at Gavilan Beach in Nicaragua, carries the same phrase—enjoy the wave—laid over unexpected scenes: koi fish under dark water, a sea cliff off the coast, tulips in bloom, floral patterns, and even a retro ad from a condo complex.
Because the wave shows up however it wants. Your only job is to enjoy it.

These images evoke a mix of dynamic, colorful designs and photographs, hinting at the connection between effort and flow.
